There are 3 types of armor: clothing, armor and shields.

Clothing is mostly for looks. It has a very low defense rate. There are hats, shoes, gloves, body, jewelry, robes and novelty items.

Hats: Hats have 0 defense and protection rate.

Shoes: Shoes have 0-1 defense and/or protection rate.

Gloves: Gloves have 0-1 defense and/or protection rate. Certain gloves are used for weaving and tailoring and cannot be repaired.

Body: Body garments have 1-2 defense and/or protection rate.

Jewelry: Jewelry has 0-2 defense and/or protection rate and cannot be repaired.

Robes: Robes have 0 defense and protection rate. The hood can be toggle on or off by pressing the "E" key.

Novelty Items: Novelty Items have 0-2 defense and/or protection rate and cannot be repaired.

Armor is mostly used for defense and protection. There is light armor, heavy armor, helmets, gauntlets, boots and shields.

Light Armor: Light armor has defense of 4 and protection of 0-2.

Heavy Armor: Heavy armor has a defense rate of 6 and a protection rate of 0-4.

Helmets: Helmets have a defense rate of 2 and a protection rate of 0-2. Certain helmets can be toggled mask on or off by pressing the "E" key. This can sometimes conflict with a robe's hood.

Gauntlets: Gauntlets have a defense rate and protection rate of 0-2.

Boots: Boots have a defense and protection rate of 0-2.

Shields: Shields are complementary to one handed weapons. Elf/human shields have a defense rate of 1-2 and a protection rate of 0-1. Giant shields have a defense rate of 3 and a protection rate of 2-3.

Equipment can be enchanted with enchant scrolls to give them certain properties and blessed with Holy water of Lymilark to cause them to decrease in durability more slowly.
